A day before the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha Election, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, alongside Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Dr. S. S. Sandhu, addressed a press conference, warning political parties against any disruptions.
"Muscle, Money, Misinformation, and MCC Violations – impediments to free, fair, and transparent elections – were addressed and responded to," said CEC Rajiv Kumar. He stated that polling officials have been instructed to ensure that political representatives are well-informed about the counting process and to deal strictly with any attempts to create disturbances.
Outlining the instructions for RO and candidates on counting day, Kumar said "All candidates and counting agents must enter the hall, must be able to see everything in front of their eyes. They will be allowed to videograph the entire process."
The counting officials have been instructed to allow all counting agents to record the results before moving from one machine to another and one round to next.
Besides, the movement of Control units will be monitored by CCTVs.
The Election Comnmission also mentioned major achievements of this general e;lections. 64.2 crore voters participated in the elections. In the Lok Sabha elections 2024, around 64.2 crore people casted ballots, which is the highest turnout in any country in the world so far. This included 31 crore women and 33 crore male voters.
