A tragic incident unfolded near Fort William, the headquarters of the Eastern Army Command, situated in the Maidan police station area of Kolkata, as a luxury car collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to two others.
The police reported the incident on Sunday, revealing that the accident occurred in the vicinity of the south gate of Fort William in the Maidan police station area. The victims, three individuals who were not wearing helmets, were on a motorcycle, returning home near Red Road after a morning exercise routine.
According to a senior police officer, the motorcycle riders were heading towards Khidirpur when a speeding car struck their vehicle. The impact led to all three individuals falling, and the driver of the car fled the scene after the collision.
The police managed to stop the car near KYD street and took the driver into custody. As the investigation unfolds, the identities of the victims and the driver remain unknown, and CCTV footage from the area is under scrutiny to gather more information.
