In a strange turn of events in Malda, a young man, Babulal Mandal, climbed a mobile tower in the Bagbari Vinpara area under English Bazar police station limits. The incident took place when Mandal, allegedly intoxicated, took a bottle of alcohol with him as he ascended the tower. He then began calling out to his girlfriend from the top, drawing attention from locals.
The English Bazar police and fire department teams were quickly alerted to the situation. Upon arrival, authorities attempted to negotiate with Mandal and convince him to come down safely. The rescue operation was carried out amid growing concern, with efforts focused on preventing any harm to the individual.
After a prolonged period of persuasion, Mandal was successfully brought down from the tower. He was then taken into police custody for questioning. No injuries were reported from the incident, and authorities are currently investigating the cause of his actions.
