NCP leader Baba Siddique shot multiple times and dies in Mumbai Hospital
Panic ensued on Sunday afternoon when the engine of the Malda-Siliguri passenger train caught fire near Kishanganj railway station, in front of the SSB's 12th battalion headquarters. The fire broke out around 12:10 p.m., alarming passengers on board. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.
As soon as the fire was noticed, SSB jawans along with railway staff sprang into action, carrying out a swift rescue operation. They worked together to bring the fire under control before it could spread to other compartments of the train.
Due to the incident, all trains running on the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) route were temporarily halted, causing delays along the route. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and an investigation is underway.
Passengers were evacuated safely, and the railway authorities ensured that the situation was managed effectively to avoid any injuries. The authorities have assured passengers that safety measures are in place and that further inspections will be conducted to prevent such incidents in the future.
