Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has launched a sharp attack on the central government over the widespread disruption of flight services, primarily involving IndiGo, which has seen numerous cancellations and exponential increases in airfares in recent days. The Chief Minister claimed that the entire chaotic situation is a direct result of the Centre’s failure to formulate any clear operational plan.
Speaking to reporters at Kolkata airport on Monday before departing for Cooch Behar, Mamata Banerjee urged the government to take immediate action, stating, "Do something, at least half the planes can fly. Make a plan. The communication system has collapsed. Flights have been stopped without any plan. Airfares have increased a lot. Even weddings have been cancelled. I have never seen anything like this. This is a disaster.
She directly blamed the government's lack of preparedness, demanding accountability: "The government should have planned something. Lakhs of passengers are sitting at the airport. How did you harass people?" She also encouraged the affected passengers to take legal recourse, advising them to "go to court" to seek justice for the harassment they have endured.
