Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee unveiled plans to establish a distinct School Service Commission for the hills of North Bengal during a government service delivery program in Kalimpong. Additionally, separate district school boards will be formed for Darjeeling and Kalimpong, as announced by Mamata.
Mamata said on Friday, "''A Regional School Service Commission for Hills will be formed. They will appoint 590 vacant teaching posts in 146 primary and upper primary schools of Darjeeling, Kalimpong.
“It is better to look at it from the perspective of decentralization,” said an official. The state government has also taken this decision with the same view.Mamata said, some people become active once every five years and try to disturb the mountain. Why would industrialists invest in turmoil? I am telling you, keep the mountains quiet, I am responsible for development.
She also said, “Many people come during voting and show a lot of greed. Promised to deposit Rs 15 lakh in the account but nothing happens. We know how to get our point across.”
The Chief Minister also said that an information technology hub will be built in the mountains. An investment of Rs 24 thousand crore will be made there.It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is currently present in North Bengal for the wedding of her nephew Avesh. Avesh is the son of his brother Karthik Banerjee.
