As the Parliament session heats up, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has called a crucial virtual meeting with all party MPs on Monday, August 4 at 4:30 pm. Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members are expected to attend, and the party line on major national issues is likely to be outlined clearly during the session.
This sudden call for a meeting has triggered speculation within political circles. Sources indicate that the Trinamool is preparing to raise specific issues vocally in Parliament, possibly opening a coordinated front against the BJP-led government. Strategic instructions, and possibly redistribution of responsibilities among MPs, may also be on the agenda.
TMC’s national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee will also be part of the meeting. Adding to the buzz, a larger virtual meeting is scheduled for August 5, which will include all elected public representatives—from MPs and MLAs to municipal and panchayat-level leaders.
The back-to-back meetings reflect an internal mobilisation and suggest a sharpened political approach from the party during this ongoing session of Parliament.
