The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has issued a directive to its MPs, MLAs, Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati, and municipal chairpersons, instructing them to convene in Delhi before October 1. The purpose of this gathering is to participate in the 'Satyagraha' scheduled for October 2 at Rajghat. The protest is in response to the Centre's decision to withhold funds allocated for West Bengal.
Initially, concerns arose regarding the presence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who had sustained leg injuries and was advised to take ten days of rest by doctors upon her return from an international trip. Banerjee had incurred minor injuries on the same limb that was injured earlier in June when she disembarked from a helicopter at the Sevak Air Base of the Indian Army in North Bengal.
Party insiders initially indicated that Abhishek Banerjee, the All India General Secretary of the Trinamool Congress, would lead, supervise, and manage the party's activities at Raj Ghat. He was expected to conduct several virtual meetings in Bengali. However, it has now been confirmed that CM Mamata Banerjee defying medical advice and will travel to Delhi on October 1 to participate in the protest on October 2. Several prominent leaders are also set to join the demonstration in Delhi, and leaders from the India Alliance will share the stage with Mamata.
