Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the Raj Bhavan and the central government following the uproar during the Governor’s address that marked the start of the Assembly’s budget session. Raising serious questions over security arrangements, she claimed that excessive deployment around the Governor created chaos inside the Assembly premises.
Mamata Banerjee alleged that the Governor arrived with such a heavy security convoy that even she faced difficulty entering the House. “What kind of security system is this where an elected Chief Minister is being stopped?” she asked, calling the situation unacceptable and deeply concerning.
Taking a swipe at the central government, the Chief Minister linked the issue to Jammu and Kashmir, saying she was not responsible for developments there. She remarked that if such extensive security arrangements had been in place in Jammu, the situation might have been different.
