West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee commenced a dharna beneath the Ambedkar statue, urging the release of outstanding funds. Expressing her demand, Banerjee sat on a 48-hour dharna, emphasizing the need for the pending funds to be disbursed.
Remarkably, shortly after the commencement of the protest, Rs 951 crore was received from the Center. Despite the fund release, Banerjee maintains her protest, highlighting the importance of securing the owed amounts.
In parallel, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is set to participate in a meeting related to One Country One Vote and is scheduled to depart for Delhi on February 5.
