In a fiery address at a meeting of opposition parties in Patna, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and emphasized the unity among the opposition. She declared their determination to fight unitedly and protect the historical legacy of Bihar.
The objective, according to Banerjee, is to speak out against what she described as a "fascist government." Mamata Banerjee's impassioned speech resonated with the leaders and attendees, as she reiterated the opposition's commitment to fighting unitedly against the BJP. She warned that the future of India would be at stake if the ruling party were to secure victory once again.
The meeting witnessed the presence of several prominent opposition leaders, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, MP Sanjay Raut, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Malikarjun Kharge acknowledged AAP's demand about ordinance in Delhi, said the issues can be addressed when the Parliament meets next. Following the meeting, Nitish Kumar expressed satisfaction with the outcome and confirmed the decision to hold further discussions in Shimla from July 10-12.
