Mamata Banerjee to hold 9 rallies in Bhabanipur in 4 days, campaign across all eight wards

Mamata Banerjee is set to intensify her election campaign in Bhabanipur with an extensive outreach plan, scheduling nine rallies over four days across all eight wards of the constituency. After campaigning across West Bengal for party candidates, she will now focus on her own seat, combining local engagements with wider campaigning in Kolkata and nearby constituencies ahead of polling.

A strategy meeting held at the office of Subrata Bakshi with Bhabanipur councillors finalised the campaign blueprint. It was decided that from April 23, Banerjee will conduct public meetings and roadshows in every ward, including two meetings in larger wards to maximise outreach. The plan aims to ensure direct voter engagement across the entire constituency in the final days before polling.

On April 24, Banerjee will lead a major rally starting from Jadavpur 8B, covering key areas including Jadavpur, Tollygunge, Rashbehari, Kasba, Ballygunge, and Bhabanipur. The campaign is also expected to see participation from prominent leaders from other states, including Akhilesh Yadav and Hemant Soren, along with cultural and social figures who have already begun campaigning in support of the Trinamool Congress.

Meanwhile, momentum has been building on the ground with a large rally organised by the party’s student and youth wings. The procession, involving around ten thousand participants, moved through key stretches of South Kolkata, drawing participation from local leaders, councillors, and party workers. Senior leaders including Firhad Hakim joined the march, reinforcing the party’s organisational strength in the constituency.

The rally, which began as a youth-led mobilisation, saw growing participation from residents, including women from various wards who joined in support of Banerjee. The expanding turnout reflects the party’s attempt to consolidate voter support through both structured campaigning and spontaneous public participation, as Bhabanipur prepares for a high-stakes electoral contest.
