Mamata government made education system a fish market: Dilip Ghosh

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Vice President and senior leader of Bengal BJP Dilip Ghosh has once again launched a sharp attack on the Mamata Banerjee government in the state over teacher appointment corruption.

According to media reports, on Saturday, Ghosh said that the Calcutta High Court has ordered the dismissal of 36,000 primary teachers, which is unique in itself. Ghosh further alleged that the Mamata Banerjee-led government has made not only teacher appointments but also government appointments a fish market. He claimed that people are being asked for money to get a job and the education system has also been made a fish market.

The senior BJP leader expressed concern over the state of West Bengal's education system, which he claimed has gone from being the pride of the entire country to a system rife with corruption. He pointed out that there was a time when West Bengal's education system was famous all over the world, and many great men were born in the state. However, the present era of Mamata Banerjee's government will be recorded in black letters in the history of West Bengal, according to Ghosh.

During a morning chat over tea in Kharagpur, Ghosh alleged that Mamata Banerjee's aim is to appoint unqualified teachers to prepare a generation that will become laborers for life and go to other states for jobs. He further alleged that the government has looted at least 3,600 crores in the name of teacher appointments, and it is not enough to just cancel the job. The money must be recovered, and it is important to fully disclose who took how much money from whom. Such people must be punished, otherwise more people will be cheated.
