Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has publicly revealed that she has yet to fill out her own enumeration form amid the ongoing SIR in West Bengal. Speaking at a rally in Murshidabad on Thursday, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo not only gave this personal update but also explained the powerful reason behind her decision. Furthermore, the Chief Minister reiterated her claim that the panic associated with the SIR exercise has already led to the tragic deaths of 40 people in the state.
While discussing the widespread fear and ensuring justice for every citizen, Mamata Banerjee declared her unique protest: "I have not yet included my name in the list. Until the names of all citizens are listed, I will not include my name." The TMC leader emphasized her dedication by stating, "I keep my word when I give it."
Soon after the SIR announcement, media reports had claimed that a Booth Level Officer (BLO) had delivered the enumeration form to Mamata Banerjee's residence in Kalighat, and the Chief Minister had accepted it. The Chief Minister, however, swiftly refuted this "misinformation" at the time.
