West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited the United Mission Girls' School in Bhawanipur, Ward No. 70, on Tuesday during the ongoing Madhyamik exams. The CM’s visit aimed to ease the stress faced by students and offer support to both the parents and teachers present. Banerjee engaged with the parents standing outside the school, providing them with encouragement during the crucial exam period.
The school's principal welcomed Mamata Banerjee, and discussions centered around the restoration of the historic institution, one of the oldest schools in South Kolkata. Banerjee suggested that after the exams, a detailed list of required renovations should be sent to her office. She assured that steps would be taken to address these issues and improve the school’s infrastructure.
As part of her visit, Banerjee also interacted with the students sitting for the Madhyamik exams, providing moral support. Many students approached her for blessings, which she readily gave. The visit was aimed at ensuring students felt less anxious and supported during their first major board exams.
