Sodepur flyover to shut every weekend from July 19 for urgent structural repairs
A 28-year-old man, Imran Molla, was arrested by Rajarhat Police on charges of physical exploitation under the false promise of marriage. Police said Imran is a resident of Bhangar in South 24 Parganas and had been living in the Lauhati area of Rajarhat for work-related reasons. During his stay, he met a 26-year-old woman, and the two got into a relationship.
The woman alleged that Imran promised to marry her and, over the last four months, maintained a physical relationship with her on that basis. She claimed that Imran later cut off all communication and ended the relationship. Based on her complaint, Rajarhat Police called Imran in for questioning at the police station.
After initial interrogation, the police arrested Imran under relevant sections of the law. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway. Police are verifying the allegations and gathering supporting evidence in connection with the complaint.
