Mohammad Nawsad was arrested for allegedly extorting crores of rupees from promoters in the Bhukailash Road area under Ekbalpur police station. According to complaints, Nawsad used the names of political leaders to intimidate local promoters and demanded large sums of money. He reportedly threatened that promoters would not be allowed to work unless they paid the money.
Nawsad also withheld important documents of the promoters and interfered in their promotional activities to enforce his demands. Several promoters from different parts of Ekbalpur lodged complaints against him. The accused is known by the name Astab and works as a promoter by profession.
Following the complaints, police arrested Mohammad Nawsad and produced him before the Alipur court. The case is now under further legal process. Authorities continue to investigate the extent of the alleged extortion and interference in business activities in the area.
