Kolkata Police made a grim discovery today late afternoon when a hotel staff in Kasba’s Rajdanga area found a young man lying dead inside a room he had checked into the previous night with his two friends. The two companions reportedly left the hotel late night, leaving the deceased alone. When the room was forcefully opened after no response to repeated knocks, the man was found lifeless, sending shockwaves through the quiet neighbourhood.
Kolkata Police rushed to the spot along with forensic experts and dog squad. An Aadhaar card has been recovered from the room, but police are still verifying if it belongs to the deceased or not. Preliminary investigations estimates that the victim is a businessman. As per reports, deep injury marks in victim's head have been found. The exact cause of death—whether natural, overdose, poisoning, or foul play—will only be clear after the post-mortem report.
CCTV footage is being examined to trace the two men who left the hotel hours in midnight. Police are also questioning the hotel staff and checking the guest register. The room has been sealed and the body sent for autopsy. This mysterious death in a Kolkata hotel raises fresh concerns about safety and screening of guests.
