Abhijeet Dipke takes break from Jantar-Mantar protest, cites health issues
A sensational incident unfolded in Kolkata’s Dum Dum Park early Thursday morning when local residents on their morning walk discovered the body of an unidentified youth hanging from a street railing. The deceased, estimated to be between 30 and 35 years old, was found in a half-hanging position with his feet touching the ground. Upon being alerted by locals, officers from the Lake Town police station arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and secured the area to initiate preliminary investigation proceedings.
The unusual position of the body has raised serious questions among both local residents and investigators regarding whether the death was a suicide or a homicide. Concerns have emerged over how a person could hang himself in a public area without being noticed, or conversely, how a body could have been brought from elsewhere and placed at the location undetected. Detectives are currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby avenues and business establishments to track nighttime movements around the park.
The Lake Town police have registered a case of unnatural death and sent the body for an official autopsy to determine the precise cause and time of death. Simultaneously, efforts are underway to establish the identity of the deceased through local missing person reports and finger-printing records. Police officials stated that the initial post-mortem findings will provide crucial clarity on whether foul play was involved.
