Man found murdered near Quest Mall in Kolkata

A man, in his late 30s, was found dead in Kolkata near the Quest Mall on Friday afternoon at around 12:30 pm. The deceased has been identified as Shamsher Ali and his body was found lying in a pool of blood in his house. Police sources said that it was a murder case and the CCTV camera stationed at the spot was also damaged.

A special team from Lalbazar police headquarters reached the spot. Homicide officers and Forensic officers also arrived at the spot. Deputy Commissioner of Police of South East Division Bholanath Pandey also arrived at the spot. Forensic officers collected samples from the spot. Police have recovered the body of Samser Ali and sent it for postmortem.

According to local sources, Shamsher was alone in the house at the time of the incident. His wife, son, and mother lived in a different house which was nearby. When they went to see Shamsher, they found the bludgeoned body. As per sources, the prime accused is Shamsher's friend Rahul who was with him last night and is absconding since the incident has been reported.

A sharp weapon has been recovered from Shamsher's house. Forensic officials said that Shamsher was hit by the weapon in his head. The blood had spilled all over the room. Investigation is going on in full swing.
