A devastating accident on Belgharia Expressway claimed the lives of a father, mother, and daughter on Saturday evening. The tragic incident occurred around 7 PM when a speeding truck hit their scooter from behind, leading to a fatal collision. The family, traveling from Dakshineswar towards the airport, was crushed under the truck’s wheels, resulting in instant death.
Eyewitnesses reported that the truck was moving at a high speed when it rammed into the scooter. The impact was so severe that the victims had no chance of survival. Onlookers immediately alerted the police, who rushed to the scene to manage the situation. The bodies of the deceased were later sent to Barasat Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Following the accident, local residents expressed their outrage over the increasing number of road mishaps on Belgharia Expressway. Many blamed reckless driving and the lack of proper traffic regulation as major causes of such fatal incidents. Some commuters demanded stricter enforcement of speed limits to prevent further tragedies.
