On Monday, an individual reportedly jumped off another Hooghly bridge into the Ganga river and has since been reported missing. The person's identity has not been disclosed yet.
Police sources have revealed that the person parked their motorcycle on the bridge while traveling from Kolkata to Howrah on Monday morning. The individual then left the bike and proceeded to jump over the bridge's railing and into the Ganges.
