In Devdih village, Ballia district, UP, 35-year-old Shrawan Ram allegedly committed a grisly act, murdering his wife, Shashikala (30), and their two sons, Surya Ram (7) and Chatthu (4 months), before taking his own life by hanging from a tree.
The police were alerted by a local resident who reported Shrawan brutally assaulting his family. Upon arrival, authorities discovered the lifeless bodies of the victims, while Shrawan was found hanging in a nearby orchard. Preliminary investigations suggest an ongoing family dispute as the root cause.
The tragedy unfolded as the police, responding to a distress call, arrived at Devdih village in Ballia to find Shrawan Ram's body hanging from a tree branch. Inside his residence, the lifeless bodies of Shashikala and their two children were discovered, indicating a brutal attack with a sharp-edged weapon.
Superintendent of Police, S. Anand, revealed that an old dispute between Shrawan and Shashikala, leading to a previous court case, had resurfaced. A suicide note found in Shrawan's pocket confessed to the murders, shedding light on the intensity of the family dispute that culminated in this tragic incident.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and investigations into the case are ongoing.
