A horrifying double murder has rocked Uttarpara in Chandannagar, where a man allegedly killed his wife and minor daughter using a sharp weapon before attempting to take his own life. The incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday, sending shockwaves across the locality.
According to local police, the accused brutally attacked his family inside their home. Neighbours, alerted by screams, found the bodies of the woman and the child, and the man lying injured in a pool of blood. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and is reported to be in critical condition.
