A man beat his wife to death with a sharp weapon at their house in Mudalapalya. After committing the murder, the accused called his mother-in-law and some friends and informed them about the incident, and surrendered to the Chandra Layout police. The accused allegedly suspected his wife of having an affair and killed her because of it.
The deceased has been identified as 33-year-old Geeta. The victim married 43-year-old Shankar 13 years ago and the couple had two children from the marriage.
On Wednesday evening, Shankar and Geeta reportedly had an argument over her alleged illicit affair and he killed her in a fit of rage.
According to Shankar's relative Parvathamma, Geeta is having an affair with another man and after Shankar came to know about it, he advised his wife. But Geeta reportedly continued her affair. Shankar found out that his wife and her alleged lover were plotting to get rid of him and therefore completed Geeta, Paravathamma added.
Shankar worked as a part-time contractor in a transport company. Chandra Layout police registered an FIR and started an investigation into the case.
