Man molests & strangles a minor girl to death in Howrah

Police have arrested a youth for molesting and killing an 11-year-old minor in the Kharigeria area under Joypur police station in Howrah district. According to police sources, the accused's name is Sushant Dolui alias Bappa (21). To hide the crime of molesting a minor, he strangled the minor to death.

Police have registered a case against the accused under several serious sections including murder and started an investigation. The accused will be produced in court on Tuesday.

According to police and local sources, a puja ceremony was being organized in the area on Sunday. The minor girl had also gone there. It was here that Sushant was seen buying water with the minor. Since then, the minor has not been traced.

Finally, on Monday morning, villagers found her body. The minor's family complained to the police station. After receiving the complaint, the police started investigating the matter. Sushant's name came up in the police investigation. When the police took Sushant into custody and began questioning him, Sushant confessed his crime.

A police officer said that during interrogation, Sushant told the police that while walking on the road, he had forcibly hugged the minor. The minor screamed at this. Fearing that the matter would be exposed, Sushant strangled the minor to death and fled from the spot after placing her body in a field.
