A sportsperson hailing from Baghpat district was tasked with submitting fake sports certificates to get selected for the UP Police constable post.
The scam came to light when officials of the UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) headquarters sent the certificate of accused Shekhar Dhaka of Chandi Nagar in Baghpat to the issuing institute for cross-checking.
The institute sent back certificates that Shekhar Dhaka's records were not available and were fake. After that, Circle Officer, UPPRPB Ravi Raj Singh Chauhan filed a case with Hussainganj Police in Lucknow.
SHO, Husainganj, JP Singh, said an FIR has been registered.
