Man ties wife by rope, drags her from motorcycle in Rajasthan, arrested after video goes viral

In a shocking incident from Rajasthan’s Nagaur district, a woman was allegedly beaten by her alcoholic husband, tied to a motorcycle, and dragged around their village. The police reported the arrest of the accused, Premaram Meghwal after a video of the horrific act circulated on social media.

The incident, which took place nearly a month ago in Naharsinghpura village, came to light when the video went viral. According to Surendra Kumar, Assistant Sub-Inspector at Panchaudi Police Station, the 32-year-old Meghwal brutally assaulted his wife before tying her to his motorcycle and dragging her behind it through the village.

Despite the severity of the incident, the woman did not initially report it to the authorities. She is currently staying with her relatives. The police arrested Meghwal on Monday on charges of disturbing the peace. Investigations are ongoing to determine further charges, given the gravity of the offense.
