No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
A devastating mass shooting has claimed the lives of ten people, including the perpetrator, in the small community of Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) responded to reports of an active shooter at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School on Wednesday afternoon.
Upon entering the building, officers discovered a grim scene: six victims were found deceased inside the school, while another succumbed to injuries en route to the hospital. The suspect, initially described as a woman in a dress with brown hair, was also found dead on the premises from what investigators believe to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The violence extended beyond the school walls, as police discovered two more victims dead at a nearby residence believed to be connected to the shooter. The attack has left the town of approximately 2,400 people in deep shock, with at least 25 others treated for injuries ranging from minor to life-threatening.
Two victims remain in critical condition after being airlifted to specialized provincial hospitals. The Peace River South School District immediately ordered a lockdown for all local schools, which was later lifted once the RCMP confirmed there were no outstanding suspects.
