Disruption in metro services between Dumdum and Dakshineswar; normal services resume after 2 hours
At least one person was killed and six others injured in a shooting at a public park in New York’s Rochester on Sunday evening, police said. According to a report by Rochester First, officers responded to Maplewood Park around 6:20 p.m. (local time) for a report of a large gathering where shots were fired. They found multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds and a large crowd fleeing the scene.
A 20-year-old was killed, and another victim was hospitalized in critical condition, police said. Five others were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
"At this point, we don’t know how many people were shooting. We are trying to work our way through that. We are trying to work our way through as many witnesses as we can," said Rochester Police Captain Greg Bello at a press briefing.
