A large crowd from the Muslim community gathered on Friday at the Babri Masjid foundation stone laying site in Beldanga, Murshidabad, where Friday prayers were offered in a peaceful and organised manner. Eyewitnesses reported that the turnout increased sharply ahead of the scheduled namaz time, with long queues forming at the site. The prayers were conducted without any disruption, reflecting a calm and coordinated gathering. The sizeable participation made the event notable in the district.
Political leader Humayun Kabir was present as a special guest, adding prominence to the occasion. He interacted with the attendees and expressed solidarity, which further elevated the significance of the gathering for the community.
The large turnout, combined with Kabir’s presence, has given the event a strong social and political weight in the Beldanga region. Locals described the gathering as an important moment for the community.
