At least 15 people were killed in a powerful explosion at an explosives manufacturing unit in Nagpur district on Sunday morning, police officials confirmed. The blast occurred at a factory operated by SBL Energy Limited in Raulgaon village of Katol tehsil.
According to a senior police official, the explosion took place at the company’s detonator packing unit between 7 am and 7.15 am. The impact of the blast caused severe damage within the premises and triggered panic in the surrounding area.
Injured workers were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in Nagpur for treatment. Authorities have not yet released details about the condition of the injured, but rescue teams were deployed swiftly after the incident.
Company representatives said rescue operations are ongoing and a detailed statement will be issued soon. Police and local administration officials are monitoring the situation as efforts continue at the site.
