A major fire broke out in the early hours of Friday, June 27, at a paint manufacturing unit located in Sector-2, Bawana Industrial Area of northwest Delhi. The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) received the alert at approximately 5:30 am and immediately dispatched two fire tenders to the site.
Due to the intensity of the fire, additional reinforcements were called in. A total of 25 fire tenders have been deployed so far to contain the flames. Support has also been sought from nearby districts including Hapur, Bulandshahr, Ghaziabad, and Meerut. Private firefighting teams were also brought in to assist.
Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar stated, “We received information of fire in a paint company in Sector-2, D-93 at around 5:30 am. Taking immediate action, two fire brigades were sent. Seeing the intensity of the fire, more fire brigades were sent. We have called in more teams from Hapur, Bulandshahr, Ghaziabad, and Meerut. Private firefighters were also called in.
CFO Ghaziabad is also here. 25 fire brigades are already here, and more have been called in.” As of the latest update, the fire has been brought under control. Cooling operations are underway to prevent any further ignition. Officials confirmed that the fire has not spread to adjacent factory units in the area.
No casualties or injuries have been reported. Authorities are continuing operations on-site to fully extinguish the remaining fire and secure the area. Further investigation into the cause of the blaze will be conducted once firefighting efforts are complete.
