A massive fire broke out late at night at a wood mill in Islampur’s Shrikrishnapur area, causing extensive damage. The fire was first noticed by a local resident, Bapan Rakhit, who alerted others. Residents attempted to control the blaze before the Islampur fire brigade arrived. Firefighters worked for nearly six hours to bring the flames under control.
