Massive fire at tyre warehouse in Dhapa near Basanti highway, smoke covers area

A massive fire broke out at a tyre and plastic warehouse in the Durgapur area of Dhapa, adjacent to the Basanti Highway, around 12:15 PM on Saturday. The warehouse contained a large stock of inflammable materials including rubber and plastic, causing the fire to spread rapidly. Thick black smoke covered the area, and visibility dropped significantly. Six fire engines were deployed to the spot, and firefighting operations began immediately.

Initial reports from the scene indicate that the fire may have originated from an electric transformer explosion. However, the exact source has not been confirmed. Fire brigade personnel are working to identify the origin while attempting to contain the blaze. Due to strong winds, the flames spread across different sections of the warehouse. Locals joined fire personnel in efforts to control the fire. There are no reports of casualties as of now.

The affected location is close to residential settlements, and concerns were raised about the potential risk if the fire spreads.
