Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
A massive fire broke out Monday morning at a fan manufacturing factory in Domjur of Howrah, triggering panic in the industrial area as thick black smoke spread across the sky. The blaze started around 6 am inside the factory, where machines and large quantities of raw materials quickly caught fire, intensifying the flames and engulfing the entire structure.
Workers present at the factory initially attempted to control the blaze by pouring water, but the flames spread rapidly due to the presence of highly flammable materials stored inside the premises. As the fire intensified and threatened to spread to nearby factories, the fire department was immediately alerted.
Ten fire engines rushed to the spot and firefighters launched an extensive operation to contain the fire. However, officials said the flames were still not completely under control and it would take more time before the situation is fully brought under control. Firefighters also faced difficulty reaching the factory quickly because of the densely built industrial area. Authorities said the exact cause of the fire is still unknown, and an investigation will be carried out once the blaze is completely extinguished to determine how the incident started.
