A massive fire broke out at a leather shoe factory in Anandapur’s Gulshan Colony on Saturday. Thick black smoke spread over the surrounding residential areas, creating panic among residents of nearby high-rise buildings. Locals first noticed smoke rising from the factory before flames engulfed a large section of the premises.
The congested and narrow lanes of the area created major hurdles for firefighting operations. Fire engines faced difficulty reaching the spot, and despite immediate efforts by firefighters, the blaze spread quickly. Local residents initially tried to douse the flames with available resources before police and fire officials were informed.
Fire brigade teams reached the site and continued operations to bring the fire under control. Police cordoned off the locality to prevent crowding and assist in firefighting measures. The cause of the fire has not yet been identified, and no casualties were reported in initial updates.
