Md Salim gives ultimatum to ISF demanding removal of Arabul Islam as candidate

Fresh tensions have surfaced within the Left-ISF alliance ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections after the Indian Secular Front announced Arabul Islam as its candidate from the Bhangar constituency. The decision triggered strong reactions from the Communist Party of India (Marxist), which openly expressed displeasure over the nomination.

Local CPM leaders and workers reportedly staged protests, alleging that the selection of Arabul Islam was unacceptable to them. They argued that the move could damage the credibility of the alliance and weaken the opposition’s efforts in the constituency. Reports indicate that the disagreement reflects deeper friction between the Left parties and the ISF regarding candidate selection and political strategy in key constituencies. The Bhangar seat is considered politically significant, making the dispute particularly sensitive ahead of the polls.

The development has raised questions about coordination within the alliance as the election approaches. Leaders from both sides are expected to hold discussions to resolve the differences and prevent the issue from affecting their broader electoral strategy in the state.
