The atmosphere in several Kolkata schools is one of anticipation and celebration as they prepare their top-performing students for Medha Samman 2025—Eastern India’s largest academic felicitation ceremony. Organised by Taaza TV, this grand event takes place today, Saturday, July 12, at the Dhono Dhanyo Auditorium in Alipore. Medha Samman 2025 is honouring more than 1,000 Class 10 board toppers from over 100 schools across the city.
The event is being attended by eminent personalities, educationists, and parents. Schools like South Point, Lakshmipat Singhania, St. Xavier’s, DPS, Don Bosco, and La Martiniere have already confirmed participation.
Medha Samman is not just an event—it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, as said by students. Many principals and school teachers are also attending the ceremony to support their students, with some even participating in the distribution of honours.
Taaza TV Chairman Bishambhar Newar, the visionary behind Medha Samman, describes the initiative as a celebration of merit and aspiration. “This event is not just about recognition—it’s about elevating confidence and dreams,” he says. As medals are polished and the final touches are put in place, the city witnesses one of its most inspiring academic gatherings.
