A coach of Medinipur-Howrah local train suddenly derailed. The incident took place when the train started ahead of Girimaidan station near Kharagpur at around 12 noon on Saturday. There is no information about any casualty of any passenger in the incident.
Since the speed of the train was very slow, a major accident was averted. Efforts are on to ascertain what was the real reason behind the incident. Railway officials reached the spot as soon as the information was received.
Passengers have been sent ahead by boarding another train. Railway guard Beauty Bhatt told that two wheels of a coach derailed. But due to the low speed, no major accident has happened. An investigation has been started into the incident.
