In a chilling case from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district, a woman and her lover murdered her husband and tried to cover up the crime by staging a snake bite incident. The victim, 25-year-old Amit, worked as a labourer and had returned home after work when the tragedy unfolded.
On Saturday night, after Amit had dinner and fallen asleep, his wife, Ravita, along with her lover Amardeep, strangled him to death while he lay unconscious. In an attempt to mislead authorities and the community, they placed a snake near his body and circulated the story that Amit had died due to a venomous bite.
The villagers quickly gathered after hearing the news, and the snake was captured from the scene. However, the conspiracy unraveled after the post-mortem report confirmed that Amit had died from strangulation, not a snake bite.
Following the autopsy findings, police arrested Ravita and Amardeep, exposing the calculated murder plot. Investigators believe the motive stemmed from the illicit relationship between Ravita and Amardeep.
This incident comes close on the heels of another brutal murder in Meerut, where a woman named Muskaan Rastogi, along with her lover, killed her husband Saurabh Shukla. In that case, the body was chopped into pieces and sealed in a drum with cement.
The back-to-back cases have sent shockwaves through the region, highlighting a disturbing trend of calculated domestic crimes in the area.
