Mehbooba Mufti expresses hope for improved opposition results in 2024 LS polls amid BJP's recent victories

PDP president Mehbooba Mufti has voiced optimism about a better outcome for opposition parties in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections following the BJP's apparent triumph in three out of the four recently contested states.

Speaking at a party convention in Kupwara, Mufti acknowledged the challenges faced by opposition parties, citing the government's influence, investigative agencies, financial resources, and the Election Commission during the Assembly elections.

She expressed her desire for improved results in the upcoming national polls, emphasizing the contrasting dynamics between the opposition and the government's formidable forces during elections.

As per Election Commission trends, the BJP is leading in 155 seats in Madhya Pradesh, 54 seats in Chhattisgarh, and 111 seats in Rajasthan out of the contested constituencies. Mufti refrained from commenting on the delayed elections in Jammu and Kashmir, focusing on addressing the concerns of the people in Kupwara.

Additionally, she dismissed reports of internal discord within the People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), asserting the alliance's strength despite minor disagreements.
