A man named Nazimul Haque from Malda district has been missing for 15 years. He reportedly has mental health issues and disappeared from his home around 2009. Despite repeated efforts, his family was unable to locate him for over a decade.
Recently, a video of a man matching Nazimul’s description surfaced on a Facebook account from Bangladesh. In the video, the man is seen wearing only a lungi, sitting in a hotel while being served food, and at times being chased away. Villagers from Islam Pur Jhakkardighi and Nazimul’s family members have identified the man in the video as Nazimul Haque.
Nazimul’s parents, Maruf Ali and Nureja Bibi, have confirmed his identity. Both of their sons suffer from mental health problems, and both have been missing for many years. Nazimul was known to be mentally unstable from a young age and used to roam the local area until he disappeared.
At present, Nazimul is reportedly living in a mentally unstable condition, wandering in Daudkandi area of Comilla district, Bangladesh. His family is facing difficulty in reaching him across the border and has approached the local police in Chanchal for assistance.
Maruf Ali and his wife have submitted a formal appeal to the Chanchal Police Station, requesting the West Bengal government’s help to bring their son back to India. The family is awaiting coordination between Indian and Bangladeshi authorities to facilitate his return.
