Merlin group honours residents at 7th Sera Pujo Awards; Merlin Urvan wins top prize

The seventh edition of the prestigious "Merlin Sera Pujo Award 2025" hosted by India's leading real estate conglomerate, Merlin Group, concluded with great fanfare at the Princeton Club in Kolkata on October 11, 2025. This annual initiative, established by the Merlin Group in 2019, aims to encourage and acknowledge the zeal of residents within their residential complexes who organise Durga Puja with immense enthusiasm and grandeur, keeping the festival's true spirit alive. The ceremony saw the winners receiving their accolades from the Chairman of Merlin Group, Shri Sushil Mohta.

The coveted first prize of the "Merlin Sera Pujo Award 2025," along with the cash prize, was clinched by Merlin Urvan, a residential complex situated in Dum Dum Cantonment. Beyond the top honour, the Merlin Group recognized several other residential complexes across various competitive categories, celebrating diverse aspects of the festive organisation.

The residential complex Merlin 5th Avenue (Mahishbathan) and Merlin Maximus (Sodepur) secured the trophy for the Best Idol (Best Protima). Meanwhile, Merlin The One and Merlin Sapphire were awarded for the Best Thematic Puja, highlighting creativity in concept and presentation. Recognising environmental responsibility, Merlin Waterfront and Merlin Gangotri won the prize for the Best Eco-Friendly Puja.

The awards also celebrated community spirit and tradition. Complexes including Merlin Verve, Merlin Jabakusum, Merlin Island, and Merlin Crest were awarded in the Best Community Unity category. Merlin Legacy and Merlin Vasundhara won the award for Best Traditional Craftsmanship. The special Nari Shakti Samman Award was conferred upon Merlin Warden Lakeview, Merlin Grove, Merlin Emerald, and Merlin Uttara, while Merlin Oikhyo and Merlin Iris were recognized as the Best Debutants.

In his address, Shri Sushil Mohta, Chairman of the Merlin Group, expressed his delight at the growing participation and scale of the celebrations. He noted that the level and magnificence of the Pujas have multiplied over the last six years, which is truly inspiring. Mohta particularly highlighted the strengthened bond and camaraderie among the residents who come together to celebrate Bengal’s biggest festival.

The event was graced by eminent personalities from the film industry, including actor Ranajoy Bishnu and actresses Sauraseni Maitra and Swastika Dutta, who served as judges. They participated in the Pujo Parikrama (Pujo hopping) organised by the Merlin Group across apartments in Kolkata, Howrah, and Hooghly, interacting with the residents. The seventh edition of the "Merlin Sera Pujo 2025" was held across 22 Merlin residential complexes, reaching over 10,000 residents and their guests this year.
