Railway officials are hopeful that the new service to Majerhat station on the BBD Bagh Metro route in Kolkata, India, will start before the Durga Puja festival.
The General Manager of the Metro, P Uday Kumar Reddy, visited the Majerhat Metro station to take stock of the ongoing construction work and expressed satisfaction with the progress. The officials are working towards completing the metro rail extension to BBD Bagh by 2026. This metro line will be underground near Mominpur, and then it will go to BBD Bagh through an underground tunnel.
The new metro service to Majerhat will bring relief to commuters in the area, as it will connect them to other parts of the city, and reduce travel time. The project has been under construction for several years, and it is expected to boost the real estate market in the vicinity. The officials have been working diligently to complete the project, and their efforts seem to be bearing fruit.
The new metro service will be a welcome addition to Kolkata's public transportation network and will help ease traffic congestion in the city. The completion of the BBD Bagh Metro extension project by 2026 will further enhance the connectivity of the city and improve the lives of its citizens.
