Metro Railway Kolkata observed the International Day of Yoga on Saturday across multiple locations, aligning with the nationwide celebration. The theme for this year was “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” A central session was organised at Metro Rail Bhavan, where General Manager P. Uday Kumar Reddy, all Principal Heads of Departments, senior officers, and staff participated through a live video link with the main event held in Visakhapatnam, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present.
During the session, Shri P. Uday Kumar Reddy addressed the attendees and encouraged everyone to practice yoga every day to remain fit and healthy. The event at Metro Rail Bhavan was conducted in the morning and saw active participation from officers and employees across departments.
Separate yoga sessions were also conducted at the Central Park Depot of the Green Line and the Joka Depot of the Purple Line. Officers and staff of both Metro Railway and the Railway Protection Force took part in these sessions to mark the day.
The day was also observed at Noapara Carshed, where another yoga session was held with the participation of staff members. Employees gathered in the morning to take part in the exercises and observe the occasion in line with the broader efforts to mark International Day of Yoga.
