Military men allegedly beat up youth for objecting to woman's harassment in Salt Lake

A youth was seriously injured after an alleged clash with army personnel at a paan shop in Salt Lake’s EP Block around 1:30 AM on Saturday. According to local sources, a group of jawans had reportedly arrived at the shop and were consuming alcohol when the incident occurred.

The confrontation began after one of the army personnel allegedly made an objectionable remark about a woman present at the location. The youth accompanying her reportedly objected, leading to an altercation. During the scuffle, a liquor bottle was allegedly used to strike the youth on the head, causing significant injuries.

The injured youth was admitted to a private hospital for treatment. Police have launched an investigation and are examining CCTV footage from the area. Statements from witnesses are being collected. No official arrests or army statements had been made public till Sunday afternoon.
