The Howrah Municipal Amendment Bill took center stage in the Assembly as Minister Firhad Hakim emphasized the government's stance on illegal constructions. During the presentation, Hakim asserted that under no circumstances would illegal buildings be tolerated.
He outlined a stringent measure, stating that Porsabha or Corporation engineers bear the responsibility of filing a First Information Report (FIR) at the local police station before the initiation of construction. Failure to comply with this requirement would result in the civic department taking action against the respective engineer.
