Minor girl raped by instagram friend in hookah bar in Kanpur

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 'Instagram friend' in a hookah bar below the Barra police precinct.

Police said the accused allegedly sexually assaulted the girl for a long time and blackmailed her by threatening to post her obscene photos and videos on social media. The incident, which took place on March 3, came to light after the survivor's family lodged a complaint with the local police on Sunday.

In his complaint, the girl's father said that one Vinay Thakur of Jarauli had called his minor daughter to meet him. “He later took her to a 'hookah bar' where he forced her to smoke hookah. Then he offered her a soft drink laced with sedatives. When she was conscious, Vinay raped my daughter,” said the complainant.

“The accused took my daughter to an abandoned place where Vinay, his accomplices Ajay, Aman Sengar and five others tried to rape and assault her again. When she fought back, Vinay bit her on the face and caused injuries on her face,” he said. “She told us that Vinay Thakur, whom she met through Instagram, had been blackmailing her for a long time,” claimed the girl's father.

DCP, South, Salman Taj Patil said, “An FIR has been lodged against five unknown persons and three named accused, Vinay Thakur, Ajay, and Aman Sengar, on charges of raping, assaulting and threatening to kill the girl. Since the girl is a minor, the accused have also been booked under the POCSO Act. Raids are underway to arrest the accused.”
