In a disturbing incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur district, a minor girl attacked a shopkeeper with a sharp blade after he refused to accept a returned product. The incident occurred in Krishnaganj locality on Friday and was caught on surveillance camera inside the shop.
According to the shopkeeper, the girl had a pattern of buying items, using them, and returning them shortly after. He claimed that this had happened on several previous occasions. However, this time he confronted her and declined to take the product back. The confrontation quickly escalated into violence.
Furious over the refusal, the minor girl pulled out a sharp blade and slashed the shopkeeper, causing serious injuries to his hand and stomach. Eyewitnesses said the shopkeeper collapsed inside the shop, bleeding, while the girl attempted to flee the scene.
Four bystanders acted swiftly and managed to catch the girl before she could escape. Meanwhile, the injured shopkeeper was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment and is now recovering.
The victim's family filed a police complaint against the girl, prompting an official investigation. Authorities have confirmed that the probe is ongoing and necessary action will be taken based on medical reports and CCTV evidence.
Residents of the area later informed police that the girl is mentally unstable and has been undergoing treatment for psychological issues. This angle is also being considered as part of the investigation.
